On Thursday, March 13th, veterans from several groups including Post 304 celebrated the 100th birthday of Clyde Chaffin, a retired Master Chief in the U.S. Navy who served in three wars – WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Master Chief Chaffin served in multiple theaters on 5 different ships as well as providing culinary services at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Chief Chaffin has been married to his wife Charlottte for 72 years and is currently in Hospice care at The Oaks of Acworth.
