The Eyes of Freedom Traveling Memorial is Coming to Acworth

The Eyes of Freedom Traveling Memorial is coming to Acworth.  Last here in 2011, the Memorial will be exhibited at the Acworth Community Center in the Tanyard Creek Overlook for 3 days.  This is a free exhibit that depicts the fallen Marines and Navy Corpsman of Lima Company that was heavily engaged in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  It honors all of our veterans and those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.  This is a traveling show and will arrive at the Center on Wednesday, July 28th at 7:00 p.m.

The American Legion Riders from Post 304 in Acworth, in a joint mission with the Patriot Guard Riders, will escort the Memorial from Semper Fi Bar in Woodstock to the Acworth Community Center, located at 4361 Cherokee St, Acworth, GA 30101.  More details about the Memorial can be found at the link below, but 23 Marines from Lima Company gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  This traveling display has life-sized portraits of each and is one of the most moving exhibits you will ever see.

Volunteers are needed to help unload and set up the display.  There are two staff with the exhibit that will be directing and helping with logistics.  At least 10 volunteers are needed, so if members of the Post are available and capable, please plan to arrive at the Acworth Community Center by 7:00pm on July 28th.
