Members of the Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 Honor Guard were on hand to present colors for the opening of the annual Veteran’s Day Celebration held at Cauble Park’s Patriot Point in Acworth, GA. Members of VFW Post 5408 greeted people as they arrived, handing out poppies and programs.
Speakers at the event included Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood and former Cobb County Commissioner Bob Weatherford, himself a member of Post 304 and Marine Corps veteran. North Cobb Christian School’s Mastery Orchestra, along with the NCCS Academy Singers, performed various selections including the National Anthem and the Armed Forces Medley.
Post 304 would like to once again thank the City of Acworth for honoring and celebrating the service and sacrifice of local veterans on this special day.
