Post 304 Annual Poker Run Recap

The 2018 Post 304 Poker Run was held on October 27th, starting at the VFW hall on Cobb Parkway and ending at the Post. Mike Smith and Don Akers cooked hot dogs as part of the $20 entry fee at the start point. Several Military Vets MC’s donated the entry fees but were unable to join in on the ride because their business meeting took priority that day.

Registration completed and kickstands were up at 1:30. Tug handled the registration, first card distribution and then the last card handed out at 4:45 with the decision on award hands at LZ304. Steve Hale had the best hand with 3 Kings and won $100. Jack Tally had the worst hand – not even a single face card or pair, and won $50.

The ride netted proceeds of $278.50 to go to the Post PTSD fund. Each of the other 3 stops had non-rider volunteers to handle the card disposition so our riders could enjoy the ride and stops, which was the purpose of this event.

Thanks to ALL who helped make this event successful. Further thanks to the riders and several Military vets MC’s who attended our Octoberfest event later that day, including donations for the raffles being held.
