Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304
Founded by an Act of Congress after World War I in Paris France, The American Legion advocates for the unique needs of every generation of veterans, service members, and their families who have pledged to protect our Nation, our Democracy, our Flag and Freedom. Throughout our history, we have worked to help veterans returning from war find resources to help with mental health needs, reintegration into our communities and more.
The American Legion is the largest U.S. Veterans organization with more than 1.6 million members who strengthen the Nation through programs, services and advocacy for those who have answered the call to duty in the U. S. Armed Forces.
The Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 not only echoes the national mandates of the Legion, but also extends our service into the local community in which we are located. Post 304 has partnered with local community members and have worked to supply the needs of recent victims of Hurricane Helene, provide service dogs to veterans with PTSD, support Boys and Girls organizations in the local high schools through the Junior ROTC programs and help homeless veterans find the resources they need. Our programs have benefitted local veterans and their families along with non-veterans who have had an emergency need that we could meet.
The American Legion Four Pillars represent who we are and what we do:
- Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation – Access to VA Care; Final Respects
- National Security – Strong National Defense; Full Accounting of POW/MIAs
- Americanism – Flag Protection; Voter Registration & Participation; The Pledge of Allegiance
- Children & Youth – Intellectual Disabilities; Family Integrity; Drug Abuse
We continue to serve our community with honor and shall do so for many years to come.
