Served in USN on Active Duty from June 1967 until June 1977. After going to work for the Lockheed California Company as a P-3 Avionics Field Service Representative in 1977, entered the USN Reserve and served in the Reserve component until December 1992 at which time I retired as the Command Chief Petty Officer for the USS CARL VINSON (CVN-70) Augmentation Unit – NARCEN Columbus, Ohio.

During the period from 1967 to 1977, my duty stations were as follows:

NTC/RTC San Diego, CA

NATTC Millington, TN

Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Eight (HS-8) Ream Field, Imperial Beach, CA deployed aboard USS BENNINGTON (CVS-20) Yankee and Dixie Station Vietnam

Antisubmarine Squadron Thirty Eight (VS-38) NAS North Island, CA

Antisubmarine Squadron Forty One (VS-41)/Light Attack Squadron Four (VAL-4) NAS North Island, CA – while attached to VS-41, VAL-4 was being stood up, but had no Avionics personnel to work on their OV-10 Broncos, so VS-41 Aviation Electronics Technicians (AT) were tasked to work on not only our own S-2’s, but to maintain VAL-4’s OV-10’s until sufficient support personnel were assigned.
