The 2022 High School Oratorical Contest took place at the Ron Asby American Legion Post 304 this past Saturday, with two contestants competing for the scholarship prize and advancement to the District competition. The winner of the Post 304 Contest was Merrick Adams. Merrick is a Senior from Powder Springs and he plans on attending KSU in the fall. Merrick won a prize of $400 and will represent Post 304 at the 5th District contest on Feb 12, at Post 29 in Marietta.
Second place in the contest was Destiny Whitfield. Destiny is from Marietta and is a Junior at Hillgrove High School.
Judges for the event were Dale Brott, Ollie Patterson and Randy Scamihorn
