The Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 hosted a booth at the annual Acworth 4th of July celebration held in Cauble park, Acworth. Well, a booth isn’t an accurate description. The city gave the Post the large gazebo for use, for which we are very thankful.
Throughout the day, members of the Post sold Culver’s frozen custard, bottled water and canned soda, raising funds for Post operations and programs. We sold out of the frozen custard, and kept sales of water and soda going right up until the time the fireworks started about 9:45pm. While the numbers aren’t yet in, suffice it to say we made some pretty good money for the Post.
The post would like to give thanks to Dan Harr, Tom “Knobby” Walsh, Kathy Walsh, Rocket Frain, Jeremy Brey, Deanna Efford, Woody Rhody, Pennie Groover, Larry Redding, Steve Hale and Jack Shields for the work they did making the day a success.
Let’s make it even better next year.
