Post 304 – SAL

Welcome to the Sons of the American Legion (SAL), specifically our local chapter: Ron Asby/North Cobb Squadron 304!

We were chartered in 2015 when our parent Post 304 officially opened at its then-new Post Home at 4220 S. Main St., Acworth, GA 30101. It was established with a new Squadron 304 Constitution by its first Commander, the late David Burdette, along with its first Adjutant, the late Ron Mazzola. Since then, our membership has been through expected highs and lows. But, in recent years we have grown to over 55 members. Our primary purpose, aside from honoring our veteran fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, et al, is to find ways to support our parent Post 304, our upchain District 5, our state-level Detachment of Georgia, and national SAL missions. We do this through fundraising, both internally and externally. We constantly rely on our members for ideas and connections around the community.

NOTE:  All SAL members are a vital part of the parent Post 304! As such, members are considered full partners with the Post and its other subsidiary organizations: American Legion Auxiliary & American Legion Riders. All Post meetings, events (not requiring a vote), and general fellowship, food & drink at the bar and grill, etc., are always open to you!

MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS:  7:00pm, 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Assembly Quarters at Post 304. Please check us out! We aim for these meetings to be not only traditional and honorable, but also FUN!

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY:  All male descendants, adopted sons, and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War I or since December 7, 1941, during the delimiting periods set forth in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of The American Legion, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion.
It is important to note the “veterans” from whom we are descended include both male or female.
