American Legion Post 304 Officer Installation Dinner for 2019-2020

On Thursday, July 18th, 2019, the Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 held its annual Installation dinner for the 2019-2020 Post officers.  Present for their swearing in was the new Post Commander, John Dowdy, along with Jr. Vice Commanders Todd Wilson, Don Akers and Jack Kimmich.  Conducting the ceremony was Jim Fultz, Jr. Vice Commander of the Georgia Department of the American Legion.  Also on hand was the new 5th District Commander, Walt Cusick Jr.

Along with the Post officers, both the Sons of the American Legion (SAL) and the American Legion Riders (ALR) swore in their new officers for the 2019-2020 year.

For the SAL, former 5th District SAL Commander Ed Kennedy was on hand to swear in Danny Townsend as Commander, along with Don Akers, Roy Holder and Woody Rhody.  On behalf of the ALR, outgoing commander Larry “Tug” Hale swore in the new Commander, Bob Weatherford, along with Tom “Knobby” Walsh, Woody Rhody, Sue Talley and Jack Talley.

Outgoing Commander Bob Kozora was presented a plaque of recognition for outstanding service as Commander for three terms.  Several members were presented certificates of appreciation by the post for services provided to the Post.  Woody Rhody, a member of the Post, along with the SAL and the ALR, was presented with an award as “Rider of the Year”.

Approximately 50 Post members and family were on hand to celebrate the new officers with a dinner catered by Olive Garden.  Attendees had a choice of chicken parmagiana or lasagna, along with salad and garlic bread sticks.  Cake was provided for dessert and everyone had a good time with food, drink and good conversations.

The Ron Asby North Cobb American Legion Post 304 would like to congratulate all those recognized and sworn in to their new offices.
