It’s hard to believe that I am now in my third year proudly serving as you commander. A lot has been accomplished in the past but there are loads of things on the horizon. One of our main goals must be bringing younger members into the post and mentor them so that they can carry on the ideals and standards of The American Legion, and of course our post.
Let us not forget our four main pillars that we, as members subscribe to:
A Strong National Security
Taking Care of Veterans
Mentoring Youth
Promoting Patriotism and Honor
These are the cornerstone of The American Legion and something we must always keep in mind.
While Legion membership numbers are going down, we, at our post have already achieved over 50% renewal rate for 2019. That’s good news, but we cannot be complacent with those numbers. If you have not taken the opportunity to renew, I encourage you to do so. You can renew on-line at mylegion.org, mail or drop off the National reminder with your check or renew at the post bar while you enjoy some great food and of course libations of your choice.
Thanks to each of you for supporting me in my elected position and feel free to let me know or any concerns or ideas you might have moving forward. Perhaps you could consider volunteering some time at the post, we always welcome assistance in the kitchen, bar and general odd jobs that need to be done.
