On Thursday, February 13th, Post 304 made it onto the airwaves with Fox 5 Atlanta’s Paul Milliken. Paul brought his morning segments to the Post and broadcast life, talking about our new bar, Casino Night and the Legion overall.
In the first segment, Vice Commander of Social Quarters Naomie Munevar talked about the bar renovation and what we have to offer. During that segment, Paul tried our new (as yet to be named) burger and fries and promised to be back for more. In segment two, Post Adjutant Jack Kimmich talked about the upcoming Casino Night while Post members played blackjack and craps behind him. Of course, Paul hit a “21” in blackjack.
Segment three saw our Post Commander, Chuck Guta, talking about the birth of the American Legion and our four pillars as well as some of the programs we provide for veterans. Steve Hale talked with Paul about the ALR and the charity events the riders sponsor, and Post Chaplain Chuck Polk talked about the POW-MIA tables and what they mean.
Prior to each segment, Paul did teasers for the upcoming live broadcast and during each one showed different aspects of the Post including some of the “Old Farts” sitting in their corner.
We would like to thank all those who came to support the morning’s events and be on television for the Post. You can see photos below (more will be added as they come in) and CLICK HERE to see Fox 5 Atlanta’s article and a portion of the live broadcast. The video is all three segments put together.
