The U.S. Navy celebrated its 249th birthday yesterday, and the Post celebrated the event this evening Monday, Oct. 14th) with a cake and crowd. Post Vice Commander of Programs, Jim Blake, cited a litany of Navy stats and information such as “Minding your P’s and Q’s.” That phrase comes from all the sailors who ran bar tabs in the various ports and needed to pay off their bills for all the Pints and Quarts of beer.
Jim provided a cake that was shared with everyone present after Anchors Aweigh was played over the Post’s sound system.
